NOT ANOTHER WHITE NIGGER

The great thing about social media is that the news never dies. It just fades away before mysteriously bobbing back again. The old days of a strict time-driven news agenda, controlled by the MSM, and the memory hole are thankfully long gone. Now people just post stuff that expresses their concerns and views, so you’ll get links to articles or videos that happened a while ago randomly popping up again. Thus it was that I ended up being directed by a Serbian Facebook friend to this item about the plight of Serbs in Kosovo. It’s basically the usual pro-Serb viewpoint, which I am largely in sympathy with, along with details of what is clearly a very awkward situation created by naive Western notions of multiculturalism projected to places where they can never work.

But what I found laughable and even objectionable in the article was the tiresome idea of the “White Nigger” trotted out to convey the terrible unfairness, bigotry, and injustice directed against the poor, oppressed Kosovan Serbs. Here’s a taste (try not to laugh):
"Serbs may not have black skin, but they are being treated like white niggers of Europe. Every day. In the media. On the streets in Kosovo." 
Yes, even in the year 2013, when the World has a Black President, and a few years short of getting its first Black Pope, people who should know better – basically anybody who hasn’t been asleep under a rock for the last 150 years – still have a tendency to veer lazily towards such outlandish tropes. Yes, the Kosovan Serbs are suffering terribly and behaving bravely, but what possible connection does that have with negrohood?

When such nonsense is being swallowed by otherwise well-intentioned people, there is a moral duty to shoot it down. The easiest thing to point out is how out-of-date an expression like “white niggers" is unless you actually want to imply that the group in question is benefitting disproportionately from public largesse, quotas, and affirmative action, while also being eulogized and celebrated by the media. This is obviously not the case with the Kosovan Serbs.

It would be much more appropriate to compare this vilified or largely forgotten minority to the Boers in South Africa or even America’s Rednecks, who are still thankfully in a position to defend themselves and wired with enough Scottish DNA to make things extremely awkward for the putative Obamwellian State.

The other key point is to stress the need to avoid the taint of victim status and abject dependency that the word “nigger” carries with it like a disease. This is something actual “niggers” should also consider, as subscribing to victimology is merely a way of surrendering your fate into the hands of others with as much resignation as a slave chained in the hold of an 18th century sailing ship. This is, of course, unless you have, say, 2000 years of experience dealing with the occult science of victimology and definitely know what you’re doing with it.

Also, bringing in the name of Gandhi, as the article does, is problematic. That kind of Indian fakir schtick only works with people who play cricket, believe in good form, are fed up with the flies and smells, and are looking forward to a retirement home in Bournemouth anyway.

Rejecting victim status has certainly been past practice with the manly Serbs, a group that has tended to look less for sympathy and more for practical assistance, like parachute drops of weapons, in their struggles against the big empires and transient hegemons that have intruded into their corner of the Balkans.

But rather than the fearsome Serbian hadjuk of yesteryear, it now seems that a less hardy and more media-savvy type of Serb activist is in the ascendancy, quite possibly with posters of Hugo Chavez and Nelson Mandela on his wall. His goal: to tap into the world’s fuzzy feel-good moral economy – i.e. what White middle class people think when they're not shopping – and get a piece of the sympathy pie for the “White niggers” of the Balkans.

The catch here however is that this works exactly like dollar imperialism. If the ruler of some Third World or Post-Second World economy needs a loan from the IMF or World Bank to help buy the cheap goodies from China to prop up his popularity, then he inevitably becomes complicit in supporting the fiction of the dollar’s value.

Likewise, if you want sympathy by playing the victim, then you have to buy into the main victimology brands, namely the Jews and the Blacks, and maybe later women, and then gays. Only by reinforcing these can you expect to be granted 'victim credits' of your own.

For any relatively traditional, homogenous, and naturally gendered society like Serbia still is, this can also be a recipe for disaster, because it means that you then have to disarm yourself in the same way that Western nations have been disarmed. You can’t very well claim “niggerhood” for Kosovan Serbs if you have, say, an immigration and welfare policy and even cultural practices that exclude Blacks from colonizing your society.

The trouble with adopting White Niggerhood is that it has a tendency to spawn Black Niggerhood, when niggerhood, of course, is not even a good thing for niggers.
